Today on General Hospital, Sam and Jason prepared to say "I do" with their family and friends around them. At the end of the show, Sam walked down the aisle, and the wedding ceremony will continue next week on Tuesday.

Sam was wearing a knee-length wedding dress with a draped surplice bodice and flowing skirt. As Kristina put it, the dress is both simple and elegant. In this week's Soap Opera Digest, Kelly Monaco (Sam Morgan) was interviewed about the wedding and the creation of Sam's dress. Monaco worked with GH's Wardrobe Director Shawn Reeves and seamstress extraordinaire Maki Chaudhuri. Monaco found a photo of Elizabeth Taylor's dress from Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (1958), which served as the inspiration. The three selected the fabric, and Chaudhuri sewed the beautiful confection. Here are a couple of screencaps of Sam's wedding dress from today's show. I thought it was so elegant and lovely. Bravo to Monaco, Reeves, and Chaudhuri on the lovely result of their beautiful collaboration!

Before I learned that Sam's dress was tailor-made for her, I was trying to track it down from the brief glimpses of the dress in this week's Jasam wedding promo. I thought it might be the Heidi dress from J. Crew, which has a similar cut. It comes in knee length and floor length versions and in both bridal ivory and more colorful party-ready options, including pinks, blues, red, grey, green, and black. If you want a store-bought dress like Sam's, it would be a good option.
